About Wayne Ferguson Principal Designer

Wayne's Lighting Design Journey

For nearly three decades, my journey has been deeply rooted in the Arts and Culture sector. For nine years, I served as the Lighting Design Manager at the prestigious Auckland War Memorial Museum was a formative experience, providing me with an invaluable foundation in understanding the nuances of illuminating significant spaces and collections. This role wasn’t just a job; it was an immersion into the power of light to enhance storytelling, preserve history, and evoke emotion.

My approach to lighting design isn’t just technical; it’s driven by a genuine fascination with the transformative qualities of light. This passion, combined with a deep understanding of the science and technology behind illumination, allows me to envision and create lighting designs that are both aesthetically compelling and functionally effective.

My career has been incredibly rewarding, marked by the privilege of contributing to national and international award-winning projects. These recognitions are a testament to the collaborative spirit I bring to every endeavour and my unwavering commitment to excellence. Working closely with clients, architects, engineers, and other designers is crucial to achieving truly exceptional results. I believe in the power of shared vision and strive to create lighting solutions that not only meet the brief but also elevate the entire experience.

My years at Auckland Museum instilled in me a profound appreciation for the impact that thoughtful lighting can have. Now, through photicforms, I bring that wealth of knowledge, expertise, and a deeply personal commitment to every project, ensuring your spaces are not just lit, but truly brought to life.
